April 4 HomeCast
What’s in this episode:
Juggernaut Minibots | Cutteridge Estate secret revealed! | Freestyle Dance Floor active item | Granzella Southern Island Hideaway Fossil Hunting tips | Granzella wedding chapel | Journey Public Space rewards | Old West Saloon Personal Space preview | AlphaZone 4’s Third Birthday
I don’t get to editorialize in HomeCast, so I’m going to do it here: If you have $4.99 to spare, Minibots from Juggernaut Games is one of the best things you can buy. Impressive not just for its gameplay, but also the brilliance of its coding, this is an item you can drop into any personal space to turn it into a third-person shooter map. Think about that for a second: Any personal space becomes a third-person shooter map.
There’s a lot of conversations about creativity in Home, and this is one of those rare items that really lets you design something that you can then interact with.
AlphaZone 4‘s third birthday celebration in Home was a study in hosting instance-based events the right way. Most Home users have had the frustration of not being able to get to the place with the party, but AlphaZone 4 solved that by having volunteers scout out new server instances and let people know the special guests would be coming, so that everyone wasn’t trying to cram into the same instance. There were several days of amazing events with Home developers, and the small amount of footage I managed to save really doesn’t do the celebration justice, but it will give you a taste of what it was like to be there.
Hearitwow sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon show!
