HomeStation Presents: Love at Lockwood

by CountEdmondDante, HSM contributor

An oft-repeated complaint, at least in regard to SCEA Home, was the lack of “official” public events.

I think it’s easy to see that that situation has changed. Home’s various developers are becoming very adroit at creating events which promote their respective brands and engage the Home community. Lockwood, in particular, has demonstrated a remarkable knack for this with their “ShowOff” competitions.

And the latest ShowOff competition, themed around Valentine’s Day, is quite wonderful. By now, you’ve already seen the announcement of their contest (if you haven’t, visit http://competitions.lockwoodpublishing.com/ for details). And each Home community media group has given it their own unique spin, with some truly unique competitions of their own which tie in with Lockwood.

We deliberately held off on announcing HomeStation’s ShowOff tie-in, as we wanted ours to come in on the tail end of the event, and coincide with Valentine’s Day itself. But now the time has arrived.

From NorseGamer, HSM Editor-in-Chief: “Our event is a “Love at Lockwood” party held at Sodium Hub’s Scorpio’s Bar, 9pm EST, February 14. This event is being headed up by CountEdmondDante, of Team RHO; Ed has appointed HSM team writer and videographer Sue (xx96791DEATHxx) as the hostess, and two specialized accounts will be guiding traffic to the event (“CountDante” and “MattCB1986).  HSM team members Sorrow-US, Orion_NGC1976, DarthGranny, Olivia_Allin, Godsprototype, Burbie52, Sealwyf, and Ted2112 will also be on hand to assist, giving photography suggestions for the ShowOff competition, and offering instructions on entering the Lockwood contest.  Lockwood codes will be given as prizes throughout the party (we have a very clever “code word” competition which is a lot of fun), culminating in the grand prize: a featured spot on HearItWow’s HomeCast!

So if you’re going to be in Home for Valentine’s Day, why not join HomeStation Magazine at Scorpio’s, dance the night away, craft a photo for the Lockwood ShowOff competition, and possibly win some fabulous prizes? We look forward to you joining us there!

OMG What a party! My apologies to those who were never able to get in -- the server got maxed out in the first 3 minutes. Even NorseGamer, TerraCide, and HearItWow could not make it in. So they opened another server and had an ‘overflow’ party with those who were able to get in there. And Norse cleaned out the HSM closet, giving away every code he had squirreled away in there.

I made the mistake of going from one server to another about two and a half hours into the party and never could get back! After being bounced to my Harbour Studio from a ‘full lobby’ umpteen times, I finally gave up.
