Creek Falls Apartment: Sony’s New Jewel

by Burbie52, HSM team writer

Of late, there are many new wondrous spaces being developed and released in Home. The LOOT Space Apartment, the new Desert Haven club and the Dream Yacht by Lockwood are all very prominent examples. Seriously, the last update of this year has to be one of the best ever in the history of PlayStation Home. There was such a plethora of new content, it took me all day just to take in a small part of it. One such jewel, which should not be overlooked, is the new Creek Falls Apartment that Sony has created.

I was invited by my Home Community Volunteer friend PoisonPreed to look at this new offering from Sony, which I hope is coming to us in the very near future. My first reaction upon seeing this space was, quite simply, wow.

Sony has hit one out of the park with this one. Haven’t we all been clamoring for more variety in the seasons and weather for our spaces? Well this space delivers by creating an autumn scene of incredible beauty.

When you arrive near the front door you first see a spacious open room. The home is laid out on one large level with only stairs and a goodly-sized loft to what I believe will be the bedroom. The rest is wide open which gives us a great deal of latitude with our choices in furnishing it. The floors gleam with a bluish-green tile or marble, and the walls are made of a medium color brown wood with wood trim. The whole space is just begging for us to put color into it to match what we see beyond the windows and doors.

There is no set furniture here, except for a very nice fireplace with a marble hearth in front that allows you to place whatever object you like on it. The fire itself has no sound that I could discern, but it seems to be behind glass and may be intended to be a gas one. The space in front of it will be a good spot to put a rug and cushions to sit and have warm conversations with your guests.

Creek Falls has several large windows in every direction, the top ones facing the deck outside have their middle pieces hinged open as though to let in a nice October Indian summer breeze. This home rests next to a babbling creek with a waterfall as its name implies with a nice autumn scene beyond. As you step out on the lovely wood deck you come to the creek below meandering into the distance toward the mountains. It looks like you are set in a small valley with mountains behind and ahead of you. There is a small footbridge crossing in the distance, making me wish I could wander across it and explore down the path beyond.

Waterfall and giftable tree

There is a sizable tile area that holds a very nice hot tub if you are a mansion owner — yes, that’s right, it is yet another perk for owning the three pieces or more of the mansion. Even without the hot tub the area outside is very nice, as there is a sparkling waterfall that makes a soothing rushing sound as it cascades just to the rear of the house. It catches the sunlight and reminds me of a fairytale setting, I felt like I was in Wonderland fully expecting Alice to appear or Bambi to jump out of the forest across the creek.

The deck area is bordered by a nice combination of wood trim and walls, and the walkway that goes toward the back is the same bluish-green marble as the floor inside. I can’t wait to get this space and set up a comfortable area for guests on the deck, perhaps around a roaring fire.

Furniture pack and hot tub

There are some other nice things about the space, one being the fact you can gift your friends with a little autumn tree that sheds its leaves. It isn’t an active item so it is a very cool little perk for your guests. There is a nice furniture pack available with the space as well. It consists of a fairly large black and white rug, a nice dark wood coffee table, a useable bookshelf that looks more like a piece of geometric art and a one piece corner couch in shades of off white with brown toned pillows. The couch is a nice size and will come in handy for other large spaces and it also boasts a built in end table.

I saved the bed for last in this description of the furniture pack because it is a story unto itself. Not only is it huge with built in shelves along the back of it, making you think it needs to stand alone instead of against a wall, but it also allows you to lay down on it.

You heard me: you can actually lay on the bed!

The one drawback is that it is an active item, and therefore takes away twenty-two other pieces of furniture for using it. It also makes you look like you are stiff as a board, it actually doesn’t look comfortable at all to me, but I guess it is a step in the right direction. Two people can lay on the bed but they are separated by a good sized distance in the doing of it. It harkens back to 1950’s sitcoms like I Love Lucy Show when they couldn’t even touch on television and had to have separate beds. So no worries for those of you thinking this might not be a good thing for the kids in Home. It being an active item will I believe make it hard to glitch, hence why Sony might’ve made it such. I know they didn’t have to because of the new chaise lounge chairs in the new desert clubhouse, which are not active.

I love this new space; I will definitely be buying it whenever Sony decides to release it to us. I hope they don’t make us wait too long for it as they did with the Winter Vacation Villa, and I can’t wait to get to decorating this fantastic new addition to our beloved Home.

  • Stunning scenery
  • Nicely done details in space
  • Great new furniture pack
  • Lots of decorating options
  • None I could find.

IF anyone fears what the children may do just because there’s a bed in the room let me say this. The things you imagine that can be done in the bed can already be done in certain chairs, just takes a little glitching. So please, let us have beds and the ability to lay on them without worry of what the kids,or adults, will do.

again, the whole ‘family’ issue……as half naked brimstone dancers flail about in the corner of a room, or for that matter, half naked avatars walking around. since its an apartment, i think that should be our option on how we use the furniture. isn’t their an age restriction for an account anyways? if so,then ‘impressionable’ children shouldn’t be on here anyways. it comes down to parental supervision. ugh. BUT i’m sooo dying to see this apartment. so far it seems alot like the area i live in, so that is a bonus. WOO HOO!!

ok, just previewed it, wow, that was horrible! besides the tall roof, it has a cramped feel to it. the beds are forced upon us. upstairs fine, but by the sliding doors? hmmm. so basically your paying for the view. kind of sad when the new clubhouse stomps this waste of space into the ground. thank god for previews!! WOO HOO!!
