HomeStation Presents: The Upload, Episode #17

by Jersquall, HSM Podcast Editor

The Upload is back, and this time there’s some full-tilt ranting going on!

This particular episode is packed with discussion:

Topic #1 — The Uncharted 3 Total Game Integration.

The Uncharted 3 TGI event is the talk of Home right now. It features addictive gameplay and some remarkable new movements for our avatars. Yet is the marketing a little heavy-handed? And will this event encourage you to go out and actually purchase the game?

Topic #2 — A Farewell to Central Plaza.

As we know, we are about to leave Central Plaza behind for the last time. Love it or hate it, the plaza was the gathering place for the Home community; it was the place to see and be seen. Are we done with it and ready to move on, or will we miss it when it’s gone?

Topic #3 — The Commercialization of Home.

You could be my assistant. Would you like that? Would you like to ride with Batman?

Home, like any community, has its share of powder-keg social issues. One such issue is the growing sense of disenfranchisement amongst some of the “elder statesmen” (if such a term can be used) of the Home community. As Home grows and embraces its new direction, has it forgotten the long-term users who helped support it in the beginning? Or are there unrealistic demands and expectations being placed upon Sony?

So: join Norse, Jersquall, Terra and Burbie as they dive headlong into the headlines — and keep your eyes out for Captain Kirk!

Play that funky music, white boy!
