HomeStation Magazine Issue #8: Online Now!

Aloha, HSM readers!

It gives me great pleasure to announce the eighth issue of HomeStation Magazine, now online for you to enjoy! Just click on the “Latest Issue” graphic on the upper-right-hand side of this website.

This issue has something for everyone in it: we examine a multitude of social issues in Home — including one article which was a collaboration between four HSM team writers to pull off — and we also take a look at what the impending release of the Hub might mean for us as SCEA Home citizens. We also offer up some very notable interviews, including RayBladeX on the subject of professional tournament video-gaming, and Home Community Manager Locust_Star on the development of Ooblag’s Alien Casino.

And, of course, our cover story: an interview with those expert Home filmmakers over at PSTalent.

(Take a look at that cover, by the way. Didn’t Mike just knock it out of the park with that one? I love the “Entourage” homage.)

Home has expanded both in terms of breadth and depth in recent months — remember the days when it was fairly easy to keep track of what all was available for sale in Home? — and we’ve done our best to reflect that with this publication. In the very early days of HSM, I was told, point-blank, that there was no way  to keep a publication devoted to Home alive for any length of time, because — in his words — “There just isn’t enough new stuff to talk about.”

Bull.

This issue offers Homelings, Home Community Management, Home filmmakers, Home social issues, Home speculation, and much more. There’s some stuff being discussed in this issue that didn’t even exist in Home as little as two fiscal quarters ago.

On an episode of The Upload at the beginning of the year, Jersquall mentioned, “The great thing about Home is that it’ll change six months from now. And it’ll change six months after that.”

And you know what? He’s right. Rewind the clock to the beginning of this year and look at what all has happened in the last ten months. And before this year is over, SCEA Home will have dramatically changed yet again.

It’s a very exciting time to be a Home citizen. And a very, very exciting time to be a Home journalist. If we can improve even one person’s enjoyment of Home, then we have accomplished our goal.

From all of us at the HomeStation, thank you for coming along with us on this ride.
