HomeStation Presents: The Upload, Episode #14

The Upload is back, and good lord, the insanity continues!

A friend of mine — who isn’t in Home and doesn’t have much interest in video games — actually listened to this episode and paid it quite a compliment: “It’s the right balance of friendly banter and professional discussion. It just sounds…right, somehow.”

This particular episode contains some fantastic discussion topics:

1. Home as an MMO?
2. Gamers like to be told what to do. Should Home have objectives?
3. Should Home have “neighborhoods” in it?
4. The departure of Irem — the parties, the dramatic walking, the favorite memories…
5. Homeling babies, and strange food cravings at odd hours;
6. Sodium2: the reverse tracks, Wasteland Spires, and how developers listen to their audience.

We’ve also experimented with a shorter running time! This particular episode is only thirty-nine minutes long, and it’s our first attempt at actually trying to keep Norse on track.

AND, I know we say this every week, but…seriously, you’ve got to stay tuned for the outtakes at the end.

So: join Norse, Jers, Cubes and Terra as they get naked for the microphone and streak through Home!

Play that funky music, white boy!

    Congrats, Cubes. *bows*
Could definitely go for Home being an MMO from time to time, or full time elements of.
    Handle Nos later? o.O

The enemy of first person shooters is lag. A cross the ocean fps contest would not go well. But a cross the ocean other type of game that does not rely so much on ping times is a great idea. What is that game? I am open to suggestions.

  9. Just ask the questions.
    I’ll find the answers.

    No probing required. *ouch*

Wasteland Spires is part of a larger Sodium2 Update currently in the final stages of QA checking.

Watch out for updates on sodiumuniverse.com :D

  10. CheekyGuy says:

Congrats Cubes for Contributing to EU Blog. Bit like going back Home really..

  11. CheekyGuy says:

I’m absolutely useless at the Sodium racing game, though no fault of it’s own. Alot of care has gone into making that game, I’m an old school Outrun player, so playing something as fast paced as this and WipeOut can be nuts. I’ll always find myself smacking up against a wall or something of that nature, even find myself racing backwards (And this is not even charging through the reversal tracks yet)
