HomeStation Presents: The Upload, Episode #13

The Upload is officially a teenager!

There are any number of Home podcasts out there; some of them are very enjoyable, providing insights, humor and details that are valuable for anyone who enjoys Home.

What makes The Upload so special, in my view, is that it approaches Home more from a social perspective than a gaming perspective. It’s the same approach we take with the website and the magazine, and as a result we usually veer into territory that you wouldn’t normally find in a Home discussion.

In this episode, you can enjoy the following discussions:

  • The AlphaZone4 redesign;
  • Scribble Shooter: the pricing strategy, the novelty, the gaming experience itself, and the social ripple effects;
  • Should virtual commodities have an FAQ prior to their release?
  • The loss of IREM, and the rise of Granzella;
  • The deployment of the UFC public space, and whether or not avatars should actually be allowed to fight;
  • Note to developers: make a hoverboard
  • The arguments for and against Home vigilantism;
And much more!
So: join NorseJersquallCubehouse and Terra_Cide as they dive once more into the vast playground of Home…

    Excellent job as usual everyone! Thanks for the shout outs as well, I always love these things, but I have to be sure I am not eating so I don’t blow spaghetti or something similar out my nose when I laugh! LOL

  3. MJG74 says:

    IS IT ME, or does cubehouse photo resemble “Vigo the Carpathian” from ghost busters 2?

      Actually, I believe it is a picture from a Monte Python movie. I THINK it’s the Holy Grail. -- One of my favorites!!! “What is your favorite color?”

    great podcast HSM!
    s2 reverse tracks r fun! im #1 on my friends list for them so far
    yes, im sad that irem is shutting down their spaces, but i am hopeful that granzella will pick up where they left off. their new space in japan is hott!
    did i hear that norse is paying for all the new content? cha-ching lol jk
    i guess the ufc space is kind of a replacement for the old fight night space. yea, it is big. i like the personal space cuz u can get lots more points on the treadmill & benchpress. i seen lots of ppl leaving their avatars at the ufc card game to collect cards for hours and get lots of points.
    i think it would be fun to have some fighting games on ps home as long as they weren’t too violent so Sony can keep its PG rating. i love playing sf & mk. was fun to see evo competition in the ps home theater this weekend.
    LOL @ mortal kombat theme song playin for Geo. Geo vs HearItWow in MK. I got my $$$ on sub-geo!
    As far as dealing with the trolls, i think it would be cool to be able to block the entire offending avatars, not just their text. but jers is right, we have to consider if that would tax the sony servers too much. i agree with terra & cube that it is just best to ignore the trolls cuz that just keeps them around. they will most often go away if u dont talk to them.
    yays terra! Fox Force Five! WOOT WOOT!

    I finally got around to downloading and listing to the newest edition of the Upload. Half way through I said to myself, “Ya know…I really, really enjoy this.”

    As someone who has listened to a lot of talk radio and podcasts over the years, I know when something is, well, crap. And this is the opposite of crap (no, I willl not be bated into a discussion of exactly what the opposite of crap is…suffice to say it’s a good thing). Keep up the good work folks. You have a dedicated fan.
