Behold the Outso Awesomesauce

It’s time for a brand-new look at the Sodium Hub.
Lockwood have told us that while the test pilots have been hard at work getting Project Velocity compliant with Transonic Racing regulations, a team has been hard at work getting the Sodium Hub ready for the next Reality Shift.
With the growing popularity of trans-dimensional extreme sports, and real-time multiplayer action coming to Home in Project Velocity, Scorpio’s has been expanded with all new seating and a dedicated teleportal, giving pilots the opportunity to socialize before a race, or to throw down a challenge to anyone who thinks their reflexes are fast enough.
Access to the Salt Shooter training facility has been made easier for those of you who feel you need a little seasoning before taking on the challenges of Salt Shooter or Project Velocity.
Most importantly of all, brand-new SodiumTwo teleportals have been added to transport you straight to the Launch Grid and into action. Access is currently restricted to authorized test pilots and maintenance personnel; however, rumors abound of a new mystery somewhere in the desert near the Sodium. If you find anything, please be sure to report it the Sodium Facebook Fanpage!
This week from Lockwood Publishing:
Villainy is afoot this week in PlayStation Home!
Poor Lucy the Goose has been robbed and she needs your help; the thief is still at large!
Baron von Eggenschtealer, the wily lop-eared villain, has made off with Lucy’s eggs. The blackguard! But hope yet remains, dear friend, if you will come to dear Lucy’s aid. The butter-pawed fiend, in his rush to make off with the goods, is carelessly dropping eggs everywhere he goes.
To help bring the cad to justice and rescue Lucy the Goose’s eggs, get the Baron’s Eggcellent Plan Active Object and let the egg hunt begin.
For the keen-eyed among you, there is a rumor that some friendly swans have been answering Lucy’s call with a couple of items to help would-be egg rescuers in their quest.
And just in case all that egg-and-rabbit mayhem isn’t quite enough to put you in a bright Spring mood, some brilliant sunny yellow raingear will be hitting the Lockwood Catalogue this week, just in time for any April showers.
All around, eggciting times ahead indeed!
Editor’s note: Crikey, what an avalanche of new content!
I have a personal fondness for the Sodium Hub. When I first entered Home, it was right when the Sodium Hub was first launched. I spent a *lot* of time there. To me, it was a wonderful alternative to the rude insanity of Central Plaza. Heck, it still is.
To see the Sodium Hub updated…it’s fantastic. In the real world, we live with buildings that are decades — if not centuries — older than us. In Home, a virtual reality built solely around consumption, new experiences and updates need to be delivered at a dizzying rate.
Most developers would have contented themselves with just releasing a new space or updating an existing one. Outso, on the other hand, decided to go full-tilt with the Sodium Hub redesign, new apparel, a new mini-game…all at the same time. This is like being set up on a blind date and realizing you’re sharing the restaurant booth with Mélissa Theuriau, Daniella Cicarelli and Rebecca Night; there’s just too much epic win to comprehend, and your brain will explode from the sheer win of it all.
Needless to say, I think it’s safe to assume most of us are going to be at Sodium tomorrow (and for a while thereafter). And I’d also like to point out that the Sodium Hub is a tremendously fun spot for the community to gather, which is absolutely free to enjoy.
Once again, Outso brings it, sets it down on the table and opens it. Outstanding job.
What could be in the tick tock egg?
I hope its Mork from Ork
or better a playboy bunny ( would be best pick, but we still lack those emotes to make a bunny hop)
or best, Secretariat the dancing horse.
(ding dong) “Who’s that at the Door?!”
Have been told there will still be safe access to “the Rock”.
*casually dances around*
Lockwood/Outso continues it’s glowing pedagree in Home. I, for onr, will be crawling through the desert for a while, heh heh. Good stuffs seem to await us after the next update…I’m excited to take a peek :>
@Nos: that’s VERY good news (joins in the Casual Dance of Glory)
