Benefits of KraftMaid Cabinetry’s five wood door materials
Go to pages 92-121 to see photos of all the doors in their
available wood types.
Go to pages 90-91 to read about natural
wood characteristics so you can explain the
differences to your customers.
Quartersawn wood
Preferred by furniture makers, quartersawn wood is also a popular choice
among customers. It’s cut through the rings at close to a 90-degree angle,
creating a tight, straight and more consistent grain pattern. Quartersawn
wood can be used to create a variety of looks but tends to be used most
in Arts and Crafts as well as contemporary styles. To highlight the dynamic
grain pattern of quartersawn wood, try finishing it with dark stains such as
Slate or Saddle.
Rustic wood types
More customers are requesting rustic wood types.
To appeal to an even wider range of customers,
rustic has been expanded to cherry and maple for
select door styles. These wood types are in addition
to rustic birch and rustic hickory, already offered by
KraftMaid Cabinetry.
