Hiding behind –
Weed...!
by Weed (1971)
Something of a walking encyclopedia when it comes to West
Coast psychedelia and 70s prog rock, Ines Kadrić exudes a
collector’s enthusiasm for the cultish and the obscure. What’s
the most expensive record she’s ever bought? The 31-year-old
points to an album by My Solid Ground, a 70s German band
so under the radar they don’t even rate a Wikipedia entry.
Her choice for this photo shoot is a recherché slice of bluesy
keyboard rock that few outside the fan forums have heard of.
Kadrić spent 10 years running the Karma record shop with her
dad, stocking rare and collectable albums that don’t throw off
a cacophony of crackles on the turntable. The quality-counts
approach is carried over to her web-based dealership, Kibela
(kibelavinylmusicshop.webs.com)
. “If you have good records,
you do well,” Kadrić says. “If you have bad records, you don’t.”
