The Accreditation Board's guidelines require that all university graduates who have successfully completed their course must undertake an approved PDY to obtain accreditation by the Society.

As of the 1 December 2012 ANZSNM has been contracted to manage and administer a supervised practice program on behalf of the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). This program is provided in accordance with the ANZSNM TSIG PDY Program.
The ANZSNM TSIG guidelines require that all university graduates who have successfully completed their course must undertake an approved PDY to obtain accreditation by the Society and registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Instructions to entry the PDY Program - Under Review (Please note MRPBA rule changes apply from 1 November 2014)
All graduate technologists wishing to become eligible for AHPRA Registration and Accreditation with the ANZSNM TSIG must have completed the equivalent of 12 months full time (over a maximum of 2 years) within an approved workplace under the PDY/Mentor Program. The process is as follows:- successfully apply for a position in an approved workplace (see "Departments/Practices approved for PDY training"). If you are unsure of the workplace's status or your prospective workplace does not appear on the list, please contact the Secretariat for clarification of their Approval status. It is your responsibility to ascertain that the department's Approval is current before signing employment contract.
- apply to the ANZSNM TSIG to enter the program using the Application to Enter PDY/Mentor Program form (see below). This application must reach the Secretariat within 30 days of you commencing employment. If your forms are received later than the 30 days, the start date of your PDY year will be deemed to be the day the ANZSNM received your application. No correspondence will be entered into.
- the ANZSNM TSIG will allocate you a mentor, and send the guidelines and progress reports to you. At this point you will be officially enrolled in the PDY program.
- at the completion of your 12 months your supervisor will complete your final progress report which is to be sent to your mentor and then forwarded to the ANZSNM TSIG. Once approved we will notify AHPRA of your successful completion of the PDY program. You may also apply for an accreditation certificate from the ANZSNM TSIG.
