FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest expenditures people usually have a ton of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you are a properly trained contractor, most roofing work should not be performed yourself. Additionally always remember that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you really should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really is dependent on the type of roof and exactly what surveys are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add more time to the job. A smaller home could take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Because your roof is constantly subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to deteriorate with time. The pace at which it degrades will depend on a number of factors. Those include; the quality of the original materials used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of taking off any covering materials that have been added to give shielding from the elements. On top of that, you really should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the undesirable algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Clifton, VA
Clifton is an incorporated town located in southwestern Fairfax County, Virginia, United States, with a population of 282 at the time of the 2010 census,[5] up from 185 at the 2000 census.
Incorporated by the General Assembly on March 9, 1902, Clifton is one of only three towns in the county, the other two being the much more populous Vienna and Herndon. Clifton’s history begins pre-colonially, when the area was used as hunting grounds by the local Dogue Native American tribe. A railroad siding was constructed here during the Civil War, and the area became titled as Devereux Station. A nearby neighborhood on the outskirts of the Clifton ZIP code has this name. Development of a village at the siding began in 1868 when a railroad depot, named “Clifton Station”, was constructed.

This Site Uses CookiesBy closing this message or continuing to use our website, you accept our cookie policy. Find out more Consider the roof as your house’s first line of defense versus all the weather aspects. Naturally, over time the roofing starts to compromise from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not fall apart simultaneously but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system evaluations find these vulnerable points early before they spread and cause extreme damage to part or the entire roofing.
Roof evaluations at regular intervals root out roofing system issues before they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roofing system. A lot of house owners just pay attention to their roofs when there is noticeable damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Truth is, with routine inspection such problems are normally evaded.

Roof inspections conserve you both money and time and are one of the most fundamental roof maintenance practices. There are a number of factors that can cause a roof’s condition to weaken with time. These are the results house owners are least conscious of because the indications are subtle and require time to show.: Weather components are the primary reason for roofing damage.
The weather slowly wears away and wears down the roofing material, and put pressure onto the roofing system structure. Poor or absence of roofing system maintenance practices such as cleansing, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping add to the using down of the roof. Not all roofing professionals are as excellent as advertised. Due to lack of ability or simply negligence, a roofing system is improperly installed, affecting its efficiency as a roof and its durability to damage.
