FAQs
Being one of their most significant expenditures people usually have a lotof questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you are a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing tasks should not be carried out yourself. Also bear in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a certified professional carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each one will have its own merits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you really should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely is dependent on the type of roof and exactly what surveys are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this will add more time to the job. A smaller home could take around a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects could be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Considering that your roof is always exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to diminish over time. The pace at which it deteriorates will depend upon a range of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials that were used as well as the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above factors. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been added to provide shielding from the elements. On top of that, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they could also reduce the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the unsightly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.
