FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their most significant financial investments people always have a lotof questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you are a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing work should never be carried out yourself. Also remember that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the job. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However there actually is no one answer fits all for every question like that. There are so many different products readily available and each one will have its own merits and disadvantages. To determine which is the best roof for you, you really should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really is dependent on the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add more time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, whereas much larger industrial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is always subjected to the outside elements, this means your roof is will break down over time. The rate at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of factors. These include; the grade of the original components used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective minerals that have been added to give shielding from the elements. Aside from that, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the undesirable algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Troutdale, OR

Troutdale is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States, immediately north of Gresham and east of Wood Village. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 15,962.[6] The city serves as the western gateway to the Historic Columbia River Highway, the Mount Hood Scenic Byway, and the Columbia River Gorge. It is approximately 12 miles (19 km) east of Portland.

The community was once known as Sandy, after the nearby Sandy River; Sandy post office was established in 1854 and closed in 1868.[7] In 1873, the current city of Sandy in Clackamas County, which was formerly named “Revenue”, established a different Sandy post office that is still in operation.[7] Troutdale was named by pioneer John Harlow for the trout pond in a dale near his house.[7] Troutdale post office was founded in 1880.[7] In 1925, a company, the Bissinger Wool Pullery, was moved from Sellwood, Oregon, and opened for business on Macadam Road along the west bank of the Sandy River. [8][9] An iconic water tower stands nearby. The company was featured in a Ripley’s Believe it or Not! column because a cat was reportedly found in a stack of animal hides that the company was going to use for its products. The cat was taken care of and became the company’s mascot, and was said to have lived a long and healthy life.[10] The water tower is now known as the “Old Historic Water Tower”.[citation needed]
