FAQs
Being one of their biggest investments people usually have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are some of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing tasks should not be undertaken yourself. Additionally remember that the majority of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a certified professional carries out the job. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be great if we could give you a simple response to this question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products readily available and each will have its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you really should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are needed. Also, remember that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add more time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas larger industrial projects can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just make sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is always subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is will degrade with time. The speed at which it breaks down will be dependent on a range of variables. These include; the quality of the original materials used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of taking off any covering minerals that have been added to offer protection from the weather. On top of that, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the aesthetically displeasing algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.
