FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their most significant investments people always have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a number of the more common ones…

Unless you are a qualified roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs should never be carried out yourself. Additionally always remember that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a certified professional performs the job. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple answer to that question! However, there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are several different products readily available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To know which is the right roof for you, you really should have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they see, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the type of roof you currently have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on particular days then this will add time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial projects can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Considering that your roof is continually exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is will break down gradually. The pace at which it breaks down will depend upon a range of factors. Those include; the grade of the original materials that were used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any covering materials that have been included to give protection from the elements. Aside from that, you really should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will get rid of the unattractive algae and discoloration without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Lake Oswego, OR

Lake Oswego /ɒsˈwiːɡoʊ/ is a city in the State of Oregon, primarily in Clackamas County with small portions extending into neighboring Multnomah and Washington Counties.[4] Located about 8 miles (13 km) south of Portland and surrounding the 405-acre (164 ha) Oswego Lake, the town was founded in 1847 and incorporated as Oswego in 1910. The city was the hub of Oregon’s brief iron industry in the late 19th century, and is today a suburb of Portland. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 36,619,[5] a 3.8% increase over the 2000 population of 35,278.

The Clackamas Indians once occupied the land that later became Lake Oswego,[6] but diseases transmitted by European explorers and traders killed most of the natives. Before the influx of non-native people via the Oregon Trail, the area between the Willamette River and Tualatin River had a scattering of early pioneer homesteads and farms.

Naturally, in time the roof begins to deteriorate from continued weather condition damaging. A structurally sound roof does not fall apart simultaneously but rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system inspections discover these weak points early prior to they spread and trigger severe damage to part or the entire roofing system.

Roof assessments at routine periods root out roof problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roof. Most house owners only focus on their roofing systems when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with routine assessment such issues are normally averted.

Roofing system inspections save you both cash and time and are among one of the most fundamental roof maintenance practices. There are a number of aspects that can trigger a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the effects homeowners are least knowledgeable about because the signs are subtle and take some time to show.: Weather condition components are the primary reason for roofing damage.

The weather gradually rusts and erodes the roof product, and put strain onto the roof structure.
