FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant investments people always have a many questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a trained contractor, the majority of roofing work should never be undertaken yourself. Also bear in mind that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the work. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof could be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple response to that question! However, there really is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each will have its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the best roof for your home, you ought to have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they discover, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the type of roof and what surveys are required. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects might be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is constantly subjected to the weather, this means your roof is going to diminish with time. The speed at which it breaks down will be dependent on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial materials that were used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been included to provide protection from the elements. Aside from that, you really should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also lower the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the aesthetically displeasing algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.
