FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest financial investments people typically have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you are a certified roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs shouldn’t be performed yourself. In addition always remember that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified professional performs the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products readily available and each will have its own merits and faults. To determine which is the right roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely is dependent on the kind of roof and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A smaller home may take about a week or so, while larger industrial jobs could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is constantly subjected to the weather, it means your roof is will deteriorate gradually. The speed at which it degrades will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the grade of the original materials that were used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any protective materials that have been added to provide cover from the weather. Aside from that, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also cut down the lifespan of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will eliminate the unappealing algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

Naturally, in time the roofing begins to deteriorate from continued weather condition damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not fall apart simultaneously but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof assessments discover these weak points early before they spread and trigger extreme damage to part or the entire roofing system.
Roofing assessments at routine intervals root out roof problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roofing system. A lot of house owners only take note of their roofs when there is obvious damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Truth is, with regular inspection such problems are usually averted.

Roofing inspections save you both cash and time and are one of one of the most standard roofing system upkeep practices. There are a number of factors that can cause a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the effects house owners are least knowledgeable about because the signs are subtle and require time to show.: Weather condition aspects are the main reason for roof damage.
The weather slowly corrodes and erodes the roofing material, and put pressure onto the roof structure. Poor or absence of roofing maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold removal and snow scraping add to the using down of the roofing. Not all roofing specialists are as good as advertised. Due to absence of ability or simply negligence, a roofing is improperly set up, impacting its effectiveness as a roofing system and its durability to damage.
