FAQs

Being one of their most significant expenditures people always have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are a number of the most common ones…

Unless you’re a certified contractor, the majority of roofing jobs shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. Also keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof is going to be very hazardous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health for you to save money?

It would be great if we were able to give you a simple answer to that question! However, there actually is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are many different products available and each and every one will have its own benefits and disadvantages. To know which is the ideal roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the kind of roof you have and exactly what surveys are required. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this is going to add time to the job. A small home might take around a week or so, whereas larger industrial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Considering that your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to degrade over time. The speed at which it degrades will be dependent on a number of factors. Those include; the grade of the initial components that were used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any protective minerals that have been added to give shielding from the elements. Furthermore, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the unappealing algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Greenbelt, MD

Greenbelt is a city in Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States, and a suburb of Washington, D.C.[1][2] Greenbelt is notable for being the first and the largest of the three experimental and controversial New Deal Greenbelt Towns, planned and built by the Federal government.[6] The cooperative community was conceived in 1935 by Undersecretary of Agriculture Rexford Guy Tugwell, whose perceived collectivist ideology attracted opposition to the Greenbelt Towns project throughout its short duration.[7][6] The project came into legal existence in the spring of 1935. On April 8, 1935, Congress passed the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act of 1935.[8][7] Under the authority granted to him by this legislation, President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued an executive order, on May 1, 1935, establishing the United States Resettlement Administration (RA/RRA).[7]

Originally referred to as Maryland Special Project No. 1, the project was officially given the name Greenbelt when the Division of Suburban Resettlement of the Resettlement Administration began construction on January 13, 1936, approximately eight miles north of Washington.[6] The complete Greenbelt plans were reviewed at the White House by President Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt on April 30, 1936.[6] The first tenants, after being selected through a stringent and restrictive application process, moved into the town, which consisted of structures built in the Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, and Bauhaus architectural styles, on September 30, 1937.[6]
