The printer owner and printer managers see a red “REMOVE” button on the printer “MEMBERS” screen, see Figure 9.15, which allows removing members or managers from their prior access to the printer. Clicking “REMOVE” will bring up a “REMOVE PRINTER MEMBERS” pop-up screen, see Figure 9.24, at which you may select the individual members8 who will no longer be allowed to use the printer.
(Note that the printer owner may not simply remove himself or herself using “REMOVE”; instead, the printer owner may “CHANGE OWNER” to some other Polar Cloud member, or the printer owner may entirely “DELETE PRINTER” at the printer “SETTINGS” screen.)
Users (non-managers) of a printer, instead of seeing “REMOVE”, see a “REMOVE ME” button, discussed in Section 9.3.
To cease sharing a printer with a group, at the printer “MANAGE” screen the printer owner or a printer manager may select the “GROUPS” tab to go to the printer’s “GROUPS” screen; see Figure 9.25. Click the red “UNSHARE” button to bring up an “UNSHARE PRINTER WITH GROUP” pop-up screen; see Figure 9.26. Select the group(s) with which you no longer wish to share the printer, and then click the “UNSHARE” button on the “UNSHARE PRINTER WITH GROUP” pop-up screen; see Figure 9.27.
Note that if you are (still) a member of the relevant group, there is another way to cease sharing a printer with that group: unshare it from the group side, as discussed in Section 7.5. (Namely, if you are a member of the group, you may go to the group’s “PRINTERS” screen and click the red “UNSHARE” button, towards the upper right of the group’s “PRINTERS” screen, to bring up an “UNSHARE PRINTERS” pop-up screen at which you may select your printer and then click the “UNSHARE” button, towards the lower right of the “UNSHARE PRINTERS” pop-up screen.) However, the group’s “PRINTERS” screen approach to unsharing is only available if you are (remain) a member of the group in question, whereas unsharing the printer from the printer’s “GROUPS” screen is feasible even if you are not a member of the group.
8When a Polar Cloud member is authorized to use a printer due to group membership, that member cannot be individually removed from printer access; instead, the entire group’s access must be removed, as discussed below.
