Boy, that Eliza Dushku is a busy girl this week, eh? Not only is she landing (potentially) recurring role on White Collar, but now returning to her throne as reigning nerd queen!
Entertainment Weekly brings with them today the official announcement from BBC Worldwide that Eliza Dushku will take the lead role in an online motion comic series coinciding with Starz' Torchwood: Miracle Day, entitled Torchwood: Web of Lies. Writer Jane Espenson had previously implied Dushku's involvement heavily through her twitter.
Espenson best known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Torchwood, Dollhouse and Battlestar Galactica, will write the series along with Ryan Scott, which will take the form of three ten-minute installments, likely debuting before Miracle Day's July 8th premiere with new installments becoming available after subsequent episodes of the TV series. Dushku will provide the lead voice, but Torchwood cast members John Barroman (Captain Jack Harkness) and Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) will also lend their talents.
The plot is being kept under wraps for now, but we'll assume it dies into the plot of Torchwood: Miracle Day, which stars Mekhi Phifer, Bill Pullman and Lauren Ambrose alongside a host of guest stars and original series cast John Barrowman, Kai Owens and Eve Myles. Miracle Day sees the duo of Captain Jack Harkness and Gween Cooper investigating a mysterious global event where humans stop dying, which causes the population to skyrocket and threatens the very planet.
