You know what? Forget everything we said about Robert Englund appearing on Chuck tipping the scales for excessive guest stardom. After the news that Summer Glau will count herself among those to patrol the Buymore this season, we happily take it all back.
The former Firefly actress, Terminator and Babe of Fall TV in her own right with upcoming NBC superhero drama The Cape will appear in Chuck's eighth, as yet untitled installment as the latest incarnation of "Greta," the ever-changing CIA handler for the new Buymore installation. Season premiere "Chuck Vs. The Anniversary" introduced the first version of the chacter as played by Olivia Munn, while tonight's "Chuck Vs. The Suitcase" will introduce Old Spice spokesman Isaiah Mustafa.
Glau joins the already impressive complement of guest stars for the Nerd Herding secret agent's fourth season, including Dolph Lundgren, Linda Hamilton, Lou Ferrigno, Karolina Kurkova, Bronson Pinchot, Stacy Keibler, Nicole Richie, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Armand Assante, Batista, Eric Roberts, Joel David Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Robert Englund.
Never one to shy away from geek references and cross-pollenation, we can't help feeling that fellow Firefly alum Adam Baldwin will refer to this latest Greta as "moon-brain," or that her's character might cross paths with Mary Elizabeth Bartowski, as played by another veteran of the Terminator franchise, Linda Hamilton. Chuck similarly couldnt' resist poking fun last season at the casting of Kristin Kreuk (Smallville's Lana Lang) and Brandon Routh (Superman Returns).
