Storage Wars' Biggest Wins And Busts

It's hard to keep track of Storage Wars' biggest wins and busts on A&E, so we've done it for you.

When Storage Wars auctioneer, Dan Dotson (played by Brendan Gleeson if they made a movie), starts rolling high-speed numbers off his tongue, you never know what's going to happen. Buying lots filled with junk in hopes of finding hidden treasure is a risky prospect, but that doesn't mean big wins don't happen. They happen quite often, in fact. Of course, big flops are always lurking as well. That's what Storage Wars is all about. We pick Storage Wars' biggest wins and busts from the hit show's first two seasons.

Senior Center Showdown

It's never easy to watch a bad guy succeed, but when Dave Hester wins, you have to admit he wins big.

This was certainly true in the Season 1 episode, "Senior Center Showdown," in which Dave spends a measly $750 on a unit filled with thousands of newspapers, which end up netting him a cool $89,250, the show's biggest win ever. He is, however, probably going to spend the rest of his life trying to sell them, if you're desperate for a silver lining.

Brandi's First Time

Storage Wars spends so much time showcasing Brandi Passante as an annoying nag that you kind of hope her first auction outing without partner Jarrod Schulz would net her a win just to shut everyone up.

Instead, she gets lured by the sight of a safe in Season 2 episode, "Brandi's First Time," and pays $2,600 for a unit filled with $300 worth of garbage. Luckily, Jarrod doesn't use the opportunity to rub it in her face. This relationship could last, guys.

War on the Shore

We're always rooting for happy-go-lucky Barry Weiss to take home the prize, if only because it'll get under Dave's prickly skin. Sometimes, his optimistic curiosity really pays off.

In the Season 1 episode, "War on the Shore," for instance, Barry purchases a downtrodden lot filled with salon supplies for a measly $275. Just as he's about to give up hope, he finds a model grand piano that nets him a whopping $11,625 in profit. Sometimes nice guys do okay, too. Especially when they drive a Batmobile.

Gambler's Last Resort

Darrell Sheets is a hard one to figure out. Fitting somewhere in between lovable Barry and villainous Dave, rooting for Darrell usually depends on how badly Dave screws him over at the auction.

He has, however, won big a couple of times. In the Season 1 episode, "Gambler's Last Resort," Darrell finds himself buying a unit for far more than he wanted, thanks to Dave's petty auction raising. Once he gets to looking around though, he finds a cache of jewelry that turns his begrudging $1,100 investment into a triumphant $16,675 of profit.

Hooray for Holly-Weird

Much as we love Barry, he's pretty good at losing money, though it never seems to sting him too badly. In the Season 2 episode, "Hooray for Holly-Weird," Barry puts $2,000 dollars into a unit only to hang his only hope for profit on an old-looking stovepipe hat. When the hat gets appraised at a measly $50, he just has to shrug and eat the $1,550 loss.
