Again, under the pretense of “just helping out his girlfriend,” Timberlake “happened to be in the area” and “just stopped by” to “steal the spotlight” from Cameron Diaz, reprising his role hosting the Barry Gibb talk show. Hooray?
Picking up where Spears left off, Timberlake kicked off his first hosting stint by creating a few, er, timeless SNL bits, including the Barry Gibb talk show with Jimmy Fallon and a giant talking omelette. Stick to your night job, dude.
Starting the season of Justin Timberlake “just dropping by SNL for no reason,” he showed up on "Weekend Update" to apologize for not hosting the show; and in a "Single Ladies" sketch as one of Beyonce’s back-up dancers.
I’m sure there were a few more sketches in this show than the first Andy Samberg/Justin Timberlake collabo “Dick in a Box,” but none of the rest of them lit the Internet on fire in the same way. The sketch was so popular, Samberg performed it live with Timberlake on his tour later that year.
It was Justin's first taste of SNL stardom, as he tagged along with then girlfriend Britney Spears to riff on their relationship, revealing he accidentally slept with Chris Kattan dressed as Britney. Remember back when Brit and Justin were in love and hope still existed? Oh well.
