Knowing
Before Nicolas Cage can drop to his knees, stare wide-eyed at an ethereal light and let his jaw swing open like a broken gate, he must first have a conspiracy to uncover. In Alex Proyas' Knowing it is a doozy - a veritable reboot of the human species on a different (and much more glowy, flowy) planet.
Knowing has every element a conspiracy theorist could love: obtuse mathematics, men in long black coats and solar flares. Plus, the gratifying third act where the entire rest of the world realizes that YOU WERE RIGHT THIS WHOLE TIME, WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE LISTEN?!?!
Knowing polarized most critics, but we love the picture for its bottomless well of paranoia. Just don't watch it on a plane as it features one of the most terrifying air traffic disasters ever put on film.
