Who is Olivia Dunham?
Olivia Dunham is a career FBI agent who refuses to be on the sidelines of anything. Case in point: in the pilot episode of Fringe, Olivia is summoned to the scene of Glatterflug Flight 627 - after being passed over by Agent in Charge Phillip Broyles, Olivia demands to be part of the onboard investigation and soon finds herself in a hazmat suit, and in the path of Broyles' intense scrutiny. Broyles, as it turns out, may have a personal vendetta against Dunham, who prosecuted Broyles' best friend in a military trial.
After her lover and fellow FBI agent John Scott is afflicted with a bizarre condition that causes his flesh to crystallize, her unorthodox do-anything approach to getting answers and ultimately saving John Scott - albeit temporarily - impresses Broyles, who later offers her a spot on his team - a secret arm of the government investigating offenses of science on a world wide scale.
Finding out that John was working for someone else with a dark agenda, Olivia begins to question her sense of who can be trusted - and who may be conspiring against her and the agency.

What's Our Theory on Olivia Dunham?
Olivia Dunham's obsession over John Scott will lead to no good. Scott will claim to be working for the good of mankind for people and reasons that he cannot reveal, and will cause a conflict that will see Olivia gradually go rogue with her investigations.
