Well, if Chuck can get renewed for a fifth season, why not? And it's not like FOX has a history of cancelling promising shows.
Deadline is reporting that despite FOX's brutal round of cancellations for the Fall 2011 season, there may be a glimmer of hope for Christian Slater sitcom vehicle Breaking In. According to the report, Fox is in negotiations with production company Sony Pictures TV to discuss potentially returning the show to the schedule next Fall, and will announce whether or not the series remains FOX's upfront next week.
Breaking In was one of five shows from the network to recieve the axe, but interestingly has survived such trauma before. The series tested very positively with audiences during the last pilot season, but Fox ultimately passed. Sony Pictures extended the contracts on the cast and crew, and FOX eventually recanted by ordering the show to series in the Fall. Still, despite promising initial ratings, the network dropped it once more.
The series proved a consistent performer in its slot following American Idol, and prior to this week was expected to be given a second season opportunity. The potential renewal of the series for Fall 2011 would make history, as a rare series to successfully survive two cancellations.
The series airs its potentially final episode next Wednesday, but why wait when you can catch Michael Rosenbaum in the Smallville series finale this Friday!
