Remember when Colin Hanks was first cast, and I pointed out how Dexter had a habit of ramping up interest in season five by announcing guest star after guest star, regardless of how important they actually were to the plot?
Well good news, everybody! Horror Asylum reports that former Heroes speedster and Halloween II star Brea Grant has joined Dexter's sixth season in a recurring role! Grant also held roles in the TV adaptation of Friday Night Lights, but remains best known for her role as spunky speedster Daphne Millbrook, antagonist to Masi Oka's Hiro Nakamura and love interest to Greg Grunberg's Matt Parkman.
Grant remains fairly tight-lipped on the role, but offers up ""No spoilers but I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing me in a white lab coat." Horror Asylum notes that description might place her among C.S. Lee's Masuka as a lab technician, as casting descriptions had mentioned a new, albeit male lab intern.
Brant joins the already profilic roster of names appearing this season, including the recently announced Billy Brown, Edward James Olmos, hip-hop artist and actor Mos Def, as well as Hollywood royalty Colin Hanks, all said to be taking "major, multi-arc" roles.
Other known details for season six include the presence of Angel Batista's sister as Harrison's new nanny Jamie (Aimee Garcia),the news that Dexter's relationship with sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) will take center stage this season, and the announcement of three as-yet-uncast recurring roles for the season.
Dexter is currently shooting in Los Angeles May 25th for a likely Fall premiere of the sixth season's first episode, titled "Those Kinds of Things!" (SpoilerTV)
