David Warner in The OmenThis classic kill from the original Omen is surprisingly unbloody -- the glass cuts so cleanly and quickly, it must've immediately cauterized the wound (if you can call a complete freakin' beheading simply a "wound"). Or maybe director Richard Donner and the rest of the crew were so in awe that this cinematic magic trick actually worked, someone forgot to give the cue for the blood effect -- and there was no way in hell they were going to reset everything for another take. Whatever -- this remains one of the most outrageous (and unexpected) death scenes in horror cinema, red stuff or no red stuff. |
