The Omen

Release date: June 25, 1976

The Pitch:

Well-to-do couple begins to suspect their young son might be the spawn of Satan or something.

Why You Need It:

Because a pane of glass flies through the air and slices David Warner's damn head clean off. Because a priest is impaled by a freakin' pole that falls from the roof of his own church. Because Lee Remick plummets screaming from the second floor of her fancy house. Because Gregory Peck drags a little kid into a church and threatens to stab him with a dagger. Because Gregory Peck and David Warner dig up the grave of Damien's mother and they find the skeleton of a goddamn jackal or something. Because it's one of the best horror movies ever made. That's why!

Talent:

Richard Donner (director), Harvey Stephens, Lee Remick, Gregory Peck, David Warner, Billie Whitelaw, Patrick Troughton, Martin Benson, Robert Rietty
