We will forever be defenders of director Ridley Scott's operatic, deliciously over-the-top, grand guignol approach to Hannibal, an extremely enjoyable popcorn thriller if you don't compare it to The Silence of the Lambs. And Hannibal certainly skimp on the details of Doctor's gruesome handiwork, particularly the ultimate fate of poor Paul Krendler (Ray Liotta).
