You're probably familiar with AVP. That's the cool way of referring to Alien vs. Predator, the pop sci-fi phenomenon spawned by the art directors of Predator 2 when they decided to put an Alien skull in a Predator trophy case. Soon after, there were AVP comics, video games, T-shirts, toilet seat covers, you name it. And there were a couple of AVP movies, too.
But why has the Predator seemingly been the only worthy foe for the Alien? We think there are plenty more battles in store for the nasty beast, whether Hollywood is ready for it or not. AVMS: Alien Versus Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The first half has Mr. and Mrs. Smith having another tiff, destroying their house and whatnot in the process of trying to kill each other. Then they reconcile, only to have the Alien show up, and... well, the guns start blazing again.
AVPH: Alien Versus Pumpkinhead. What happens when the Alien takes on the nastiest vengeance demon ever? A battle the late, great Stan Winston would be proud of, that's for sure.
AVR: Alien Versus RoboCop. This conflict has been chronicled before, hasn't it? It was a comic book or a video game or something. No matter - now it's a movie. And movies are the best.
AVRB: Alien Versus Rocky Balboa. Yo, Adrian - take a look at who gets in the ring with the Italian Stallion. The title for World Heavyweight Champion of the Universe is at stake here.
