Release date: November 21, 1990
It's hunting season in near-future Los Angeles as the Predator starts picking off cops and drug dealers alike.
While not the classic its predecessor is, Predator 2 still packs a punch - it's a loud, brutal, visceral experience that moves fast enough to make you overlook the so-so script and the fact that Danny Glover is certainly no Arnold Schwarzenegger. Trading the original film's cleverness for vulgarity and over-the-top violence (popular elements in several 1990 action films) with any references to the previous film being vague at best, Predator 2 works more as a "What If?" scenario rather than a sequel. You also get the shot of the Alien skull on board the Predator's ship - an inside joke on the crew's part that ended up spawning a whole new franchise.
Stephen Hopkins (director), Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ruben Blades, Bill Paxton, Kevin Peter Hall, Robert Davi, Adam Baldwin, Calvin Lockhart.
He's in Town With a Few Days to Kill Shoot to Kill!
The Predator films inspire all sorts of looks of surprise and urgency.
