5 | Thunderbird 4 |
Gerry Anderson's classic puppet adventure series Thunderbirds is still beloved by the British, and the vehicles are still incredibly iconic. So big props to this team of blokes who took a $600 Fiat and converted it into a rolling replica of the original Yellow Submarine, Thunderbird 4. They then took it on a race called the Wacky Rally, which covers 2,500 miles and attracts bizarre vehicles from all over the world.
4 | Batman's "Tumbler" Batmobile |
Customizer Bob Dullam tackled what may be his biggest challenge ever when he decided to build a working replica of Batman's tank-like Tumbler from Batman Begins from scratch in his garage. This isn't a shell he put on an existing vehicle - every single part is custom-fabricated. I doubt it can peform the automotive acrobatics that Batman's version did, but it's still mighty sweet.
3 | Dalek |
If you really want to let your nerd flag fly, there's no better way to do it than by installing a life-size duplicate of one of Dr. Who's foes in your home. This unreal life-size Dalek replica was constructed by a Who fan out of lumber and plastic, and looks a lot more threatening than the old 60s models with their silly nozzle-guns. Interestingly, the BBC has a very strict policy on fan made Daleks, cracking down on anybody who tries to sell one. Maybe they're just too dangerous to be out there.
