The Farrelly brothers-directed Three Stooges movie keeps on choogling along, with Stephen Collins now confirmed as a cast-member. The actor will join Modern Family's Sofia Vergara as the couple who adopts the titular Stooges for some kind of malicious purpose. It should be safe to assume that at some point in the film, Collins will be asked to hit one of the Stooges' fists, at which point the stooge will swing his arm around in a wide circle before hitting the actor on his head. That or get his eyes gouged out in a truly hilarious fashion.

For fans of family-friendly TV with not-so-subtle Christian overtones, Collins is best known for playing Eric Camden, the father of way too many kids on Seventh Heaven. But for those of us who don't need a guy who's never heard of a condom looking down his nose at us, we remember Collins as Bruce Mathis, the real father of Dennis and Dee on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Anyone who reproduces that many times is plotting something.

Collins joins a cast already filled with...interesting choices. The Stooges themselves, Moe, Larry and Curly, will be played by Chris Diamantopolous, Will Sasso and Sean Hayes, respectively. Larry David and Jane Lynch will also be appearing in the film as two nuns who run the orphanage where the Stooges live. As mentioned earlier, the movie will be directed by the Farrelly brothers, so we fully expect a thoughtful exploration of the modern immigrant experience in America.
