Star Wars Bounty Hunters

The Star Wars universe is a dangerous place packed with a colossal amount of unique and interesting characters. Quite a few of them are bounty hunters, and you're about to take a look at the best ones.

The few. The proud. The bounty hunters. Countless offer their services as a gun-for-hire across the cosmos, but only a handful will ever reach legendary status. Individuals like Greedo immediately come to mind as chumps who could never fill the shoes of a Fett. The Rodian bounty hunter was rash and foolish, and the result was a blaster to the chest from close range. This list of bounty hunters would never make such a novice error (okay, maybe some have from time-to-time) and that's what allows them to stand out from the competition and have their names whispered in horror from system to system.

Boba Fett is the most popular of the batch, but is he truly the best there is?

The Star Wars universe is a big place, so obviously a handful of bounty hunters didn't make the cut. If your favorite didn't make the list, let us know!

Zuckuss And 4-LOM

Jabba the Hutt was the matchmaker behind this partnership. Zuckuss is a Gand, and his ability to hunt down his targets is aided by the the fact he's force-sensitive. Gands usually stay on their home planet, but Zuckuss defied that stereotype and took to the stars to become one of the most well-known bounty hunters of his day. During his adventures, Jabba the Hutt paired him with 4-LOM, a protocol droid who fine-tuned himself so he could become a bounty hunter. 4-LOM just wanted to learn a few tricks from the organic partner, but it was love at first sight and the two remained as partners for quite a few journeys. 

Boba Fett blasted 4-LOM to bits, but like the loyal friend that he is, Zuckuss helped rebuild the droid. When it comes to getting down and dirty, Zuckuss loves using his GRS-1 snare rifle and 4-LOM likes to kill fools with his Blastech W-90 concussion rifle. While the two are famous faces across the galaxy, they'll never be feared as much as the others on this list.

Embo

This Kyuzo warrior dropped my jaw when he kicked all kinds of intergalactic booty in The Clone Wars. Embo busted into the animated show and proved he's a bounty hunter that demands your respect with his stunning agility, accuracy with his bowcaster, and awesome use of his "Captain America's shield meets Raiden" hat. The Kyuzo worked with other bounty hunters and even Jedi to help defend a village on the planet Felucia from pirate raiders. Embo later worked with his peers yet again in an attempt to capture Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Embo was arrested by the Jedi, but I have high hopes to see more of this man in the Star Wars universe.

Aurra Sing

This deadly bounty huntress claims to be then bane of the Jedi and was once a Padawan herself. Auura Sing honed her fatal talents thanks to the help of Anzati assassins. The tall and pale killer was briefly seen during the pod race in The Phantom Menace and even took a young Boba Fett under her wing during The Clone Wars. Sing favors twin blaster pistols and an Adventurer slugthrower rifle for distance. And, just like General Grievous, she collects the lightsabers of the Jedi she has killed.

Dengar

This Corellian mercenary has quite the history with Han Solo and Boba Fett. In his earlier days, Dengar was a skilled swoop jockey and often heard about another man every bit as skilled as he was, and that man was Han Solo. Dengar challenged Solo and the result was anything but pretty. The smuggler cut off Dengar, blasting his face with the vehicle's exhaust and forcing Dengar to crash, impaling his skull on a plant. In order to save his life, the Empire gave Dengar assorted cyborg enhancements, but in they process they chopped out the parts of his brain that control mercy. The result was a merciless killer, and that's exactly why the Empire employed Dengar as an assassin. But when ordered to kill children, Dengar was able to recognize how horrific the act would be and fled from the Empire.

Dengar was never able to get his revenge on Solo, sometimes joking that he was always a step behind Han. However, his story with Fett is one for the history books. Boba often got the better of Dengar but always did it in a way to spare the man's life. Dengar stumbled upon a badly injured Boba Fett on Tatooine (after he escaped the Sarlacc), and having his compassion recently restored by a special device, Dengar saved Fett and helped nurse him back to full health.

Fun fact: Boba would go on to serve as Dengar's best man when he married Manaroo.

Bossk

Bossk is a Trandoshan you don't want to mess with. This bounty hunter had a vicious hatred for Chewbacca and, just like other Trandoshans, an unhealthy obsession with killing and skinning Wookies.

Bossk became one of the most feared names in the galaxy, but his thrist for Chewbacca's blood would go unsatisfied. They had several run ins, and one time the Trandoshan almost captured Chewy and some other Wookies, but Solo crushed his ship with the Mellennium Falcon and freed the hairy group from his capture. The mighty Chewbacca did eventually die, but it wasn't at the hands of the reptilian bounty hunter. Bossk mocked the Wookie's death right in Han Solo's face, and Solo replied with a slug to his scaly nose.

Bossk did however gain some respect when he earned a victory over the infamous Boba Fett. However, much to everyone's surprise, the win was accomplished through a tactical, and not physical means. Bossk had a piece of evidence from Slave 1, and Fett, despite having a gun to the reptile's head, told Bossk he won and agreed to give the Trandoshian a large sum of credits in exchange for the important piece of dirt he had on him.
