Gate To Morrowind

This locale won't show up on your map, but it's just northeast of Stendarr's Beacon. Walking along the colorful, vibrant path will lead you to a large gate that should be familiar to any Elder Scrolls fan. This gate marks the border between Skyrim and Morrowind. When you try to push forward, however, you get a message in the top left corner: "you cannot go that way." It's like they knew....

The silence and howling winds give off an eerie feeling at this location and you can't help but feel like... you're... being....

... watched.

Bromjunaar Sanctuary

The Dragon Priests are the coolest enemies lurking around in Skyrim. Their backstory and lore are badass and whenever I run into one, it is a momentous occasion. When you reach Labyrinthian for the first time, while making your way through the College of Winterhold questline, you find a few oddities that grab your attention. A weird, circular room in the middle of Labyrinthian's courtyard is riddled with skeletons and blood. Among the carnage lies a note and a wooden mask resembling the Dragon Priest masks.

The note is a great read, but the fun begins when you put the mask on. You're teleported, what seems to be, back in time to Bromjunaar Sanctuary. The very room you were just standing in is rejuvenated to look like new. Here you can replace all eight Dragon Priest masks to get the final, secret ninth mask.

Abandoned House

When you first visit Markarth, you'll overhear someone asking citizens questions about an abandoned house. If you walk by him, he'll start asking you if you know anything about it. You can offer to help him discover the secrets of the house and join him for a little sleuthing.

Big mistake.

The abandoned house is possessed by none other than Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of Domination, and he's %#$ing pissed.

The entire house starts to shake, items begin to fly across the room and a booming voice commands the both of you to kill each other. He convinces your partner that it's you or him, causing him to attack you in fear. After reluctantly disposing of him, Molag Bal sends you on a quest to which the reward is his daedric mace.

Chillwind Depths

Some places is Skyrim really make you feel bad for the blokes that found them before you. Chillwind Depths is a cave located south of the Dragon Bridge, and it is littered with creepy findings. When you first enter, it appears to be a normal cave; some spiders have moved in and an overabundance of moisture has caused most of the tunnels to become flooded. As you delve deeper, however, you discover the cave's true nature.

You stumble upon a Falmer settlement and, as you push forward, you start to find the dead bodies of adventurers. The deeper you go, the more dead bodies you find, until you finally reach the final chamber. You find what appears to be a sacrificial altar surrounded by water, along with an eerie note detailing an adventurer named Firir's last moments.

What's even more scary is you can find dozens of skeletons if you dive into the water surrounding the chamber. Looks like these Falmer were pretty busy hoarding all the killing.

Wolfskull Cave

Wolfskull Cave is part of the quest The Man Who Cried Wolf, given to you by Falk Firebeard in Solitude. The cave is located to the west of Solitude, just south of the Steed Stone. If you head to Wolfskull before initiating the quest from Falk, it'll seem like any other damp and grungy cave. A particular path will be blocked off by ice that can't be melted or removed. That is, until you speak with Falk.

Varnius Junius has been begging for someone to investigate Wolfskull Cave, but no one takes him seriously. Falk admits he's seen a few strange things over there so he sends you to investigate. When you get there, the ice that was blocking your way seems to be gone and necromancers have moved in. Make your way through, disposing of the squishy mages. Reaching the final chamber, you see what all the fuss is about.

The necromancers are performing a spectacular ritual to bring back Potema Septim, the Wolf Queen of Skyrim. As you slay necromancers and Draugrs, you make your way to the top of the underground fortress, where you must finish off the Ritual Master. Once slayed, Potema cries out and disappears, but this won't be the last you'll see of the pesky Wolf Queen.
