You set up exchange rates to record the relationship between two currencies so that you can recognize transactions in multiple monetary units. To manage the exchange rates on the Exchange Rates page, you can set up a record to store the from-currency, to-currency, and exchange rate multiplier. You can also view past rates on this page, and extract the rates from this page.
Before you create exchange rates, currencies must exist for them. To learn more, see Currencies.
Although you must enter a value in the Exchange Rate field, this value is automatically overwritten, when you save the record, with a unique identifier for the exchange rate.

The following table lists the fields that Kenandy provides. Your system administrator selects the fields that are displayed on your user interface.

| Active | This field is not currently functioning. It does not indicate whether the exchange rate is active or inactive. |
| Autonumber | An auto-generated ID that identifies the exchange rate. |
| Exchange Rate | The unique identifier for the exchange rate. |
| Exchange Rate Type |
The type of exchange rate. |
| External Id | An external ID that is used for data loading. |
| Frequency | The frequency for the exchange rate. Possible values are Daily and Monthly. |

The from-currency for the exchange rate |
| Multiplier Exchange Rate |
The multiplier exchange rate for the from-currency and the to-currency. The amount of from-currency is multiplied by this field to obtain the amount of to-currency. The amount of to-currency is divided by this field to obtain the from-currency. |
| Rate End Date Time |
The ending date and time of the date range for which the multiplier exchange rate is effective for the from-currency and to-currency. The exchange rate is in effect for a transaction if the date and time for the transaction is between the date and time in the Rate Start Date Time field and the date and time in the Rate End Date Time field. |
| Rate Start Date Time |
The starting date and time of the date range for which the multiplier exchange rate is effective for the from-currency and to-currency. The exchange rate is in effect for a transaction if the date and time for the transaction is between the date and time in the Rate Start Date Time field and the date and time in the Rate End Date Time field. |
| Rate Timestamp | The date and time that the multiplier exchange rate is effective for the from-currency and to-currency. This field applies only to exchange rate feeds. |
| Rate Timestamp External Id | An external ID that is used for data loading. This field applies only to exchange rate feeds. |
