Cebu Pacific most popular
carrier for Manila-Sydney route
Figures from Australia’s
Bureau of Infrastructure,
Transport and Regional
Economics (BITRE) show
that Cebu Pacific carried
11,018 passengers from
Manila to Sydney in May
— which is 42% more than
the next-largest airline
operating the same route.
What’s more, CEB flew
85,264 out of 232,876
passengers between Manila
and Sydney from September
2014 to May 2015 — a 37%
share of the total passenger
traffic. Cargo volume also
increased to 33%.
“The significant passenger
and cargo volume growth
between Manila and Sydney
validates the Cebu Pacific
effect,” says Alex Reyes,
CEB General Manager for
Long Haul Division. “CEB’s
low fares continue to drive
trade and tourism between
our countries. We look
forward to offering the
most affordable fares to
even more destinations
in Australia in the coming
months.”
CEB is the only low-cost
carrier with Manila-to-
Sydney flights.
