Life in Phuket
The street processions are crazy and
the early-morning rituals at the shrines
are fascinating. I write about this every
year.
Youmaintain a blog —
Jamie’s
Phuket.
Why did you start it?
In 2006, I was spending time on a
lot of different internet forums and I
got rather annoyed that many people
had a very blinkered view of Phuket
(bars, girls, tourists, expensive tours,
beaches) and I thought, “this is not my
Phuket”. It seemed there was a whole
other Phuket that most people didn’t
know about, so for a bit of fun I started
the blog
,
writing about places we went,
restaurants we like, with a lot of it
being off the main tourist path.
