Life in Phuket
How long have you been in
Phuket andwhat brought you
here?
I came here in 1999 looking for work as
a diving instructor, having read about
the Similan Islands. I made a decision
to give Thailand a try. I had been
traveling in Africa, North America,
Central America and South America
and ended up living in Honduras. But
I got itchy feet again. Phuket was the
main base for dive shops, so I came
here and never left!
What are your favorite places in
Phuket?

Phang Nga Bay
It’s beautiful and very popular with
tourists. Amazing scenery. And I think
Koh Panyee village, built on stilts, is a
wonderful place.

Old Phuket Town
I love the old streets and the mix of old
and new businesses. It’s my favorite
place for a quick photo shoot.

The Beach Bar
We’ve been going since 2006 and
our kids have grown up knowing the
owners’ kids. We often go there to relax.

Khao Sok National Park
We love the scenery and the fresh air.

It’s not a place but...
I love the Phuket Vegetarian Festival.
