tNorwegian, we arecommitted tobeing
progressive and thinking long-term. That’swhy
this year alonewewill takedelivery of 14
brand-newBoeing 737-800 aircraft, aswell as
four 787Dreamliners. Last year, we took
delivery of a total of 17 aircraft andnext yearwewill welcome
another 11 aircraft toour fleet. Andwith265 aircraft onfirm
order, wewill continue to introducebrand-new aircraft toour
fleet over the years tocome.
For us, it is crucial tohavebrand-new, cost-efficient
aircraftwith lower fuel consumption. Not only does this
enableus tooffer our passengers cheaper fares, but the
passenger comfort ismuchhigher andour passengers are
able tofly oneof the greenest fleets inEurope.
New aircraftwithbetter capacity and range alsomean
wecanoffer passengers new andexcitingdestinations even
further afield thanbefore. And I’mnot just talking about our
long-haul aircraft, the 787Dreamliner. Norwegian’s brand-
newBoeing 737-800 aircraft can alsofly longdistances; our
Oslo-Dubai route, for instance, is theworld’s longest route
operatedby aBoeing 737.
We alsohave some very exciting futureplans: from2017,
wewill begin takingdelivery of theevenmoreefficient Boeing
737MAX aircraft – yet another gamechanger. These aircraft
will enableus tofly betweenmanymorecontinents andoffer
some fantasticnewdestinations; thepossibilities areendless,
somake sure youwatch this space.
Norwegian is committed to actively engage in and support
a sustainableenvironmental policy andwe takedeeppride in
being able tooffer oneof themost environmentally friendly
fleets inEurope. We areconstantly looking forways to
improveour passengers’ travel experience. New aircraft are
mandatory in that endeavour.
