Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc.’s team of experts will work with your to create a program specifically tailored to your needs. We will assess how your part is produced currently, as well as its intended application and end use. Together, we will identify and meet your specific needs.
A tube is very flexible and does not require a high-powered laser. Laser generators with a power output of 12 kW are now possible for flat sheet cutting machines. Tube laser cutters require a power consumption of only 5 kW. To cut a tube you must always look at the opposite end of the tube. A stronger laser would simply blow through your tube while cutting. (Officially, if the laser is processing a beam and a channel on the tube's laser, there are no need to worry about any other side.
StarFeed can be used as an automated loader/unloader to the StarCut Tube laser cutting machine. It comes in two sizes, S and L. The StarFeed allows you to fully automate dry and wet cutting for tubes of any diameter from 1-20mm. StarFeed L can store 48 tubes and allows processing of oval tubing. Its sensor-controlled gripping unit avoids damage. The result is a substantial increase in productivity.
StarCut Tube L 600 can be ordered with either a fiber laser, USP laser, or both. StarCut Tube SL compact model has the smallest footprint on the market.
All types, all shapes: This three-dimensional cutting machine will cut carbon, stainless, aluminum and red metals; in round, square, rectangular and irregular shapes.
Some things are difficult to see until you have a closer look at the fiber laser operating. Fiber lasers have a larger power density than CO2 laser beams because their beam diameter is typically one-third that of CO2 beams. This allows fiber to cut more quickly and also allows it pierce better. This allows the fiber to cut intricate shapes with sharp edges and leaves a smaller beam size. Imagine that a fiber can cut the company logo from a tube with spacing of 0.035 in between its letters; a CO2 laser is incapable of doing this.
A laser cutting machine can make a sheet of sheet metal in seconds. However, a laser tube cutting machine can achieve the same results. It is quite different from how it works.

Micrometric Ltd uses the Coherent StarCut Tub laser cutting machine to provide speed and precision in medical and aerospace production.
High cutting quality is one of the main characteristics of CO2 Lasers. Their primary application is in medium to high material thicknesses. The laser beam's cutting edges offer high throughburr and low scoring. This makes it possible to process the cut parts further without having to rework.
A fiber laser cutting machine generates a laser beam using active optical fibers and transmits it to the machine's cutting head via a transport fiber. This extremely hot laser is condensed into a narrow beam and is used to cut through various metal thicknesses.

Glass CO2 laser tubes all degrade over time, with lifespans ranging from 3 months to 3 years. With use, the CO2 inside the tube degrades into carbon monoxide and oxygen. Overdriving the tube only accelerates this process and shortens its working life.
