Many believed fiber lasers could only work with thin materials. Because CO2 has a longer wavelength, it created enough material kerf to permit material removal. Fiber lasers can't produce the same level of kerf and results with thicker materials. This has been corrected by collimating tech, which can produce a wide fiber laser-generated beam that allows for materials separation. It also makes it possible to allow for material removal in thicker materials. You can also switch the beam width so that the machine can process thin materials with the narrower beam. This allows you to process more materials in a shorter time.
Micrometric Ltd uses its versatile Coherent StarCut tubes laser cutting machine in order to produce speedy and precise medical and aerospace products.
Metal fabricators understand the benefits of fiber laser cutting technology in flat sheet processing. But do they know what it can do for tube and tube cutting? You can actually find quite a bit.
We have the best solutions for laser tube cutting. Learn how lasers can reduce entire processes and increase the number of parts that you can make.
We offer a tube extension for loading tube stock up to 80", or 6'8". Note that the maximum part size remains 52"
Laser generating technology is now available for sheet laser cutting machines that can deliver up to 12 kW power. Laser tube cutting machines typically have a maximum power output of 5 kW, as any additional power would also cut through the opposite end of the tube.
This is a third of the full 20-foot (240") length of a tube. It makes it easy to make three stock pieces. You can still buy full length tubes without having to waste any material
Tube extensions are available for loading tube stock to the maximum length of 80", or 6'8". The maximum part size is 52".
Learn how the Coherent StarCut Tube laser-powered cutting machines and StarFiber laser cutters helped NPX Medical to gain a competitive advantage in stent manufacturing.
The StarFeed is an automated loader/unloader for the StarCut Tube laser cutting machine and is available in sizes S and L. This combination allows fully automated dry or wet cutting of tubes from 1-20 mm diameter. The StarFeed L stores up to 48 tubes and even allows the processing of oval tubes. Its sensor-controlled gripping unit avoids damage. The end result is a big increase in productivity.
Parts are held with automatic tabbing (done in FabCreator), and a set of jaws on the drive chuck and the idler chuck
All types, any shapes: This three dimensional cutting machine can cut carbon steel, aluminum, red metals, and stainless steel in any round, square or rectangular shape.
Machine manufacturers have begun using cameras to perform tube inspections. They can reduce the time it takes to inspect quality tubes and also reduce the amount of rotations needed. This allows for both productivity and accuracy to be maintained.
Monaco high power femtosecond lasers provide excellent edge quality for micromachining. They also offer improvements in scientific application like three-photon microscopicscopy.
A fiber laser cutting machine generates a laser beam using active optical fibers and transmits it to the machine's cutting head via a transport fiber. This extremely hot laser is condensed into a narrow beam and is used to cut through various metal thicknesses.

Glass CO2 laser tubes all degrade over time, with lifespans ranging from 3 months to 3 years. With use, the CO2 inside the tube degrades into carbon monoxide and oxygen. Overdriving the tube only accelerates this process and shortens its working life.
