There are many tools homeowners may not be familiar with when resurfacing a pool. It is also a labor intensive project and can be risky if the homeowner doesn't know how to do it properly. Many things could go wrong, resulting in the need to redo all of the work.

What is pool resurfacing? And how does it work? If your pool is in-ground concrete, it is not possible to just put a new surface on top of the existing one. You must prepare the existing surface for a new plaster or pebble coat by either chipping away the plaster, bond coating and sandblasting it or hydro blasting it. These are all acceptable methods according to the National Plasterers Council. However, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Once the surface is prepared properly, you can apply the final coat of plaster, quartz or exposed pebble, or polished pool finish.
