So far there has been no evidence of credit card info being stolen as far as I know. Personal info like name and email maybe, but Sony is giving everyone a free year of credit insurance to be sure that no one can use your number if they did have it by chance. The beauty of this will be you can probably use this insurance to cover you for all other credit cards besides the one you used on the PSN. I myself had taken off my info off a week before this all happened.

Ummm,i don't think there's any denials from Sony about the personal info,names,address'.E-mails,were taken that's been admitted i think. As for the credit card info idk, there's no proof that it was taken but there's no proof it wasn't taken either.Honestly I'd would have rather lost my credit card info. than my address, much easier to put a hold on a credit card than it is to get info. back off the Internet.I doubt these hackers care about where any of us live but I'm also quite confident that they will sell that info. to any1 that may want it.While most ppl on home aren't delusional psychopaths all it takes is 1 and i must admit that I've probably pissed off more than 1 on home at 1 time or another. So I'm now put in the position of having to take steps to insure that any psychopath that comes to my address with bad intentions receives a warm welcome. While this isn't a huge concern for me it's certainly more of 1 now than it was before the security breach. It's also something I'm not sitting around waiting for Sony to do something about,as if they could,i took care of it to the best of my ability and can only hope it's enough and unneeded.I am a bit curious though Burbie52 as to why you took your info off when you did?Was it coincidence or did you hear rumblings about something coming as some people did?The reason I'm kinda curious is that if you had heard something then acted on it that was the prudent thing to do,which was what Sony didn't do.They knew there were threats against them over that jailbreaking the ps3 thing and don't seem to have beefed up security over it.I'm not saying Sony's the bad guy here but i am saying they didn't show much concern for our info. in my humble opinion.Idk the reason for that and really in the end it doesn't really matter why, they dropped the ball.I just hope that they will now pick-up the ball and run with it.

Burbie, I really wish I could remember who warned me to take my information out of PSN back on April 16. Only clue I have is that you got the same warning and did the same thing. Do you remember who it was? All I remember is it was a male friend - probably a friend we have in common. I wonder how he knew?

As for people leaving in droves, I suspect it is the in-Home game players and the online trophy game players who have been hit the worst with this. A lot of the 'social gamers' are still here. In fact, HSM has been undergoing a real growth spurt in new viewership, members, and FB links.

I cant remember who told me about taking my info off back then, but I was warned and took it to heart just in case. It was someone I trusted in order for me to do it I know that and I think I saved the message so it will be there when I get back online. I don't know if it was the same person who warned you granny. I sent the same warning to everyone on my list that day, so it may have been me that told you, I can't remember.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea that a lot of people might be quitting Home and going elsewhere. I highly suspect that Sony has been using the total number of people registered as an inducement to developers to promote in Home. However, it usually proves true that 80% of the market spends only 20% of the money while the remaining 20% of the market spends 80%. So far, it looks like (from reading all the blogs in all the different websites re: Home, lurking in all the Chat rooms, and reading the posts by the few who can still get into the HomeForum) the defectors are mostly from the 80% group who spend as little as possible in Home. And the 'social' Home users who value buying personal spaces, items, and clothes are patiently sticking around. If what I suspect is true, the developers like Lockwood, NDreams, etc. will have only a slight loss in revenue even if Home users drop to half of previous totals.

What Sony might lose, however, are some of their advertisers like the U.S. Air Force whose primary market is teenage males.

See that was what i was getting at,if we had been warned we coulda took our own info. off ourselves but sony never warned any1 that i know of.I believe that had sony been a little more proactive the damage coulda been minimized.I'm in no way saying it's there fault but it feels like they fell asleep on the job a little bit.As for the reduction in lukewarm users, yeah i can see that being a benefit for us the constant daily or almost daily users that spend most of the cash but i doubt corporate will feel the same about that.

I looked at my saved messages and though I didn't have the original one I am pretty sure I know who sent it now. It was way back on April 6th that it was sent, I know this because it is the day I sent it out to all of the people on my list. It basically states that a good friend in the UK of the friend who sent this to me told her to remove the info and that she considered them a reliable source and that the attack was happening right then. Since this was on the 6th, I don't know if it relates to what happened later on, but i just kept my info off after that.

I believe the 6th was when Anonymous' 1st DDOS attack happened.I never heard anything about an impending attack until the 16th and i assumed that the Ps3 security would be able to handle it.Now i know better but i believe that had sony told us about these attacks some ppl might have taken their info. off as well.I may have myself if i hadn't heard it 4th hand from some1 that wasn't sure of the details,it's not a big deal but it does make me less trustful.
