Yeah... it's happening to everyone. I'm sure hackers stole the personal information of millions of people, just like with Sony. After all, the Wii is WAAAAAAAY less complicated than the PS3. I just caught this on Google news and rushed to see if I could find my password for this website. Now, let me go back to the link to read the rest of the story and reaffirm my statements above.

Wait a minute...

Quote: The server contained no consumer information. The protection of our customer information is our utmost priority," Nintendo of America, the company's U.S. unit, said in an e-mailed statement.

Then I lol'd, because this was obviously a huge troll statement directed at Sony.

Quote: "We constantly monitor our security," Nintendo said.

In other words, "And you don't, Sony. lol, u mad?"

Okay, this totally changes the subject of this topic. Hm. I was about to say, "Well, this can obviously happen to any video game company." Now I'm flabbergasted. The Wii costs... what? About the same as two PS3 games? Why can't Sony keep their stuff together if even the friggin' Wii (which only rivals the PS2 in quality) can protect their customers?

Yeah, I mad.

They stole a httpd.conf file, which is a pretty big deal, that requires being able to gain access to some of the most secure parts of a server file space.

Nintendo should have suffered far worse if they managed to get that far into their system. Dumping email addresses from accounts on PSN is nothing compared to actually running around inside Nintendo's server like that.

Regardless, Nintendo don't have an online network worth breaking. I've seen people's eyes nearly pop out of their sockets when they saw the PS3 has internet TV, store and gaming. The Wii sets their expectations a little low.
