By granting permission to a User ID, you are allowing an individual user or a user group privileges to the system.

Different permissions can be granted to a user or user group including their access to:

• Specific menus and sessions in the application 
• Functions such as read only, create, update or delete
• Specific data

These permissions are granted through role definitions and data access privileges.
