CENTRAL VALLEY — Section Chairman Randy Emery judged the high school welding competition. 116 WELDING JOURNAL / JUNE 2016 Summary: The college held its second annual high school welding competition, which challenged the top four welding students from ten local high schools to compete. The students chose between GMAW and GTAW processes, and were required to complete the AWS D9.1, Sheet Metal Code’s welder qualification test in their chosen process.
