A Love Letter

Written, Composed and Performed by : Frank Farra

Oh Beth how I Love you, Oh Beth how I care

Walk with me down a rocky road
Hand in hand - let me carry your load
Friendship Loving when the moon is right
How I Love you Beth my dancing queen of delight

Blonde hair blowing with the breeze of dawn
In my mind you're here today and tomorrow you're gone
Have a seat, set a spell and stay a while
So I can see your pretty eyes your laugh and a smile

Oh Beth how I Love you, Oh Beth how I care!

It makes me happy cuz I like laughing too
Cutting up that old rug just me and you
Singing songs on Friday at the Ferris wheel
I got some money, call me Monty, let's make a deal

Every time I see your face - I hear the bell ring
Like a game show all I can think of is dang!
Dang, shucks, shooting sugar, golly bum
How I Love you Beth, where did you come from?

Oh Beth how I Love you, Oh Beth how I care!

{ ... Guitar Twang ... }

Don't worry about tomorrow
Or thoughts of yesterday
Just listen to my letter
And what its got to say

And if it makes you feel better
Don't go to blue from gray
If it makes you feel better
Let it brighten your day

And if it makes you feel better
I'll be on my way

{ ... Piano Part ... }

This song's a Love Letter that I'm writing to you
Every word and note I wrote and thought is true
And when you're missing me, and I'm gone far away
Don't worry about what you're going to say

Just listen to my letter
And what its got to say
And if it makes you feel better
It will be a brighter day

Cool!

Yes! We Love to Rock-n-Roll! When we get together, we can experiment! In the Lab, just like cooking. I've discovered lots of cool parts of songs by mistake (or when something came to fruition that wasn't intended). Some of the best talents I've seen - were those with not much actual hands-on experience. I'm also working on folk, metal, hip-hop, pop and soul projects! Don't be shy. Why not join us! Thanks!

Moms Guitar / A Love Letter ~ 5

  • Written in 15 minutes
  • 5 hours in the studio
  • One vocal take by Frank
  • Needs re-recorded
  • Singers any buddy?

The song: "A Love Letter" by Frank Farra from the album "Moms Guitar," was written in less than 15 minutes! It was one of the only songs Frank has ever written where the music, or, in this case the guitar chords he came up with - inspired the story and the lyrics. The noted { ... "Guitar Twang" ... } at about 1:33 of the song, inspired the whole thing. Those 6 notes on the acoustic guitar = 1. Oh  2. Beth  3. How  4. I  5. Love  6. You ...

Hey Fran, thanks for saying hay! As for the "movie pictures," or the visual you get when listening to the song, we had a lot of fun to say the least. I reminisce about Beth often - as if it were only yesterday. Karen Carpenter had a song about : "Only Yesterday ..."

Great job on the website Frank! Cool songs too. I've been helping my sister with her website. She insists on WordPress. What do you use for all of your pages here? Thanks, Herman M.

Thanks Herman! I copied & downloaded lots of code from Free Open Source Projects by the best of developers during years 2011-2014. Those few guys and / or gals were the best designers of their time. Fortunately, most of their code still works. After 2014, it seems like they started hiding or selling fantastic functional "pieces of code," through WordPress.org themes and other templates / plugins that required annual payments and regular updates. I have lots of files & folders full of awesome code (templates) before it was removed or taken off "Open Source" status. Mainly HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.  Best of all, you can run the code on AWS S3 for a few dollars/month.

I agree. HTML code, images, etc. loads superfast using "AWS S3." And no database is needed! Amazon EC2 is my second choice :

Hi Mr. Farra, my name is Skip, AKA : Skipper. I live in South GA. on the FL. line. If you have room, I'd like to play guitar and / or banjo on your re-make of "Old Ugly Dude," Song #4, & the kick-ass lead guitar mid-way solo at 2:41 on "My Dream Girl," Song #2. ... Are you still looking for a session musician?

Hi Skipper! You can call me Frank. ("Mr. Farra" is my Dad.) Before I answer your question, I got one for you. Ginger or Mary Ann?  lol.

We're doing a more modern version of "Moms Guitar," Song #3. We've got Brandi and Brad ready for the vocal parts.
We'll need guitar and keys for that one.
      Thanks.

Nice speaking to you last night! I appreciate the opportunity to participate on your re-makes. After listening and practicing the guitar on "Bluer Than Blue," I think this song (re-recorded) could easily be a National Top 10 - Nashville Hit - for country radio. Looking forward to getting together on the 31st.  Skip. Hear :

Hi Frank, my name is Tonya from North East TN. Would you be interested in working with me on a few songs? I am putting together a small local group of female vocalists for doing vocal parts and backing vocals, etc. My uncle Tony comes up with guitar parts & we write lyrics and words to try & fit the sound. When you do a song, what comes first? The Music or The Lyrics? Thanks, Tonya.

Hey Tonya! Thanks for reaching out. My goal is to put together a band or group, with myself as Manager, stay in hotels, hang-out backstage, create and orchestrate the best songs of the millennium and the year. I have a vision of the type of female vocalist I'm looking for - to do a whole song, or parts of a song. I may be surprised if the person I end up working with doesn't fit my vision. (Always open to experiments.) Send me some pics and a recording of your work. Audio or video is ok. Your songs can be recorded with your phone - rather than in a studio or professionally recorded. I can make you a cool webpage at no cost. Very rarely do I come up with the music first. Always the lyrics first ...

Howdy Frank! Just wondering... Who are your favorite musical or vocal influences you may point to - or give credit to?

Howdy Martian! Since I'm not really much looking at too many people in the present, I'm mostly fixed on the past during most of my life, rather than this short period of the "present." Taking that into consideration, I could come up with 100 guitar players and 100 singers. Bands and individuals that come to mind first: Bands: Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, AC/DC, etc. ... Singers & Musicians : Ronnie Van Zant, Ozzy, Peter Frampton, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, David Gates, Jim Croce, Randy Rhoads, Karen Carpenter, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Frankie Valli, etc. I'm also a big fan of disco; Donna Summer, Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor and almost everything Soul Train.

I think Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons should be up on the list first. All of Frank's social media buttons on the top right of the song pages all point to Frankie Valli / YouTube Videos!  lol.
